5K Freedom Run |

JONESBORO, AR – Today, over 200 runners, walkers and rollers gathered at the starting line at Craighead Forest Park-Access 6 for the 5K Freedom Run and Walk race. Participants from the state of Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Virginia, and Missouri completed the course with a loop around the park. The winning time was a great 18:11, turned in by Joseph Pearce, 33 of Jonesboro, AR, in the women’s bracket Katie Helms, 30 of Fayetteville, AR posted 21:23, while Natalie Johnson-Leslie, 39 paced the walkers with a time of 37:32.
The youngest competitor was eight-year old Rees Hogue of Jonesboro who finished with a time of 42:52, while the oldest competitor was 76 year-old Doris Clark of Jonesboro who finished with a time of 39:38.
Following today’s race, fireworks will be on display at the park, the public is invited and admission is free. Pictures from the finish line, the awards ceremony and complete race results can be accessed at www.jonesborosports.org.
